So I started my new job today on K Street – yes, that’s right, the street notoriously known for housing lobbyists. I had an excellent first day – everyone is so great and laid back. The best part of my first day was going to DC Coast with my boss. I’ve only been to a few nice restaurants here in DC (I went to Mei N Yu Friday night for a friend’s birthday and that was pretty yummy) – but this one is my favorite restaurant thus far. I had the Crispy Softshell Crab ‘BLT’ – which came with capers and was served with sweet potato fries. I think this may be the most delicious meal I’ve had since I’ve been to DC! Yummmmmmmmm.
Let’s let Ellen be the judge
•August 22, 2008 • 3 CommentsOne of my co-workers shared this video with me, which I think is absolutely hilarious. I am not Obama’s largest champion, but his dance moves far outshine McCain’s sad appearance on Ellen. If you recall, the Arizona Senator was left defenseless on the issue of gay marriage when he appeared on her show in May. While his comments about gays having unions for “tax purposes” were commendable, Ellen’s parallelism between the civil rights movement and the gay rights movement was right on point. You see, we have the Constitution for a reason. I oftentimes employ irriational reasoning (largely based on emotion) to validate my viewpoints. However, as safeguards of the Constitution, presidents do not enjoy this luxury, and our government should not have the ability to dictate what freedoms its citizens can and cannot enjoy ( e.g. in a perfect would, libertanism would fly with me ). Also, note: gays are not terrorists. They are not starving. They are not homeless. Well, some may be, but you get the point. Exert your efforts elsewhere.
